NUBAR - CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES REVIEW

Good morning dearies. Today I have the swatches for you of the new Nubar Chocolate Truffles collection. While some of you were excited about an all brown collection, some of you were not. However, I think some of you non-brown lovers might be surprised by some of these colors. Not all in this collection were just straight browns and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the colors. Lets take a look at them shall we?

Before we begin, we have had nothing but rain and cloudy skies, so all of the below swatches were done under lamp light first and then I took flash pics. Also, none of the swatches below have a top coat, just 2-3 coats of polish.

SWISS CHOCOLATE - 3 coats
Doesn't this look like melted chocolate? The flash pictures most truly represent this shade. It is more of a deep dark chocolate brown. This would be a great base coat to add some nail art or konad stamping too. Of course, brown lovers will like this all on its own. Really pretty shade of brown that didn't make my fingers look red like some browns tend to do to me.

CHERRY CORDIAL - 3 coats
Man, I wish I would have had some sun to get pics of this one. I think it could be a duo chrome, or at the very least have a strong flash of another color. This goes from burgundy to brown and even some hints of a yellowish green tint too. Really and awesome color! You can see in the lamp pics that this shows more of the brown and greenish colors, while the flash only picked up the burgundy colors. I just could not capture all that this color was last night in the lighting I had. Hopefully we will get some sun in the next few days and I can show you how awesome this color truly is.

CHOCOLATE COVERED CARAMEL - 2 coats
This is such a unique color. In the bottle I couldn't tell if it was a gold or brown. When I put it on I just fell in love. I can't describe why I like this color so much. It is brown, it's gold, and I can swear this looks green at certain angles. Not like a forest green or anything, but there is a definite green color too this. In the bottle I thought, hmmm this is a weird one, but when I put it on I couldn't deny it's fabulousness. I just need to let this color be great :)

RASPBERRY TRUFFLE - 3 coats
This baby was the one I was really excited about trying out, just by looking at the bottle. This one is killing it!!! A deep, dark base color that I can't even pinpoint. It looks like it could be a dark burgundy or brown color. The dark base color of this gives this polish a sort of dusty look to it. But the killer part of this color has to be the "raspberry" flat, flaky shimmer this polish is chock full of. This color was so awesome I couldn't quit taking pictures of it! SOOOOO non brown lovers, what do you think of this baby??? And do you see that shine? Remember this is with NO top coat!!

MILK CHOCOLATE CREME - 3 coats
This one is really just a lighter brown version of Swiss Chocolate. Nothing just blew me away by this color, but a true brown lover will like this. My own personal preference I like the darkness of Swiss Chocolate better than this one. I also noticed this one wasn't as shiny as Swiss Chocolate either. This still applied very nice, as all my Nubars have.

CHOCOLATE COFFEE BEAN - 2 coats
At first glance you might think this looks just like Raspberry Truffle, but it isn't. This one is a much darker color as well as smaller pieces of burgundy glitter in it. This one is more shimmery than flaky glitter like Raspberry Truffle. This was another one that I kept taking pics of! I really like this one too.

All in all I am very pleased with this whole collection. I am not a brown lover by any means, but I really liked this collection. I have a hard time finding browns that don't make my fingers look red when I wear it, and I didn't have that problem with any of the browns from this collection. I loved the names and the whole idea of using chocolates for this collection. I'm a sucker for cute packaging, what can I say? But this collection is more than just cute packaging - it has some really pretty colors, some unique colors, some colors that make you do double takes, and of course just some plain colors. I like that nubar went for different types of finishes with these polishes and didn't make them all cremes with different darkness's and lightness's of browns.

This collection will be available soon direct from Nubar's website.
