I had been waiting for some nice, bright sun shine days to get these done, but it just didn't work out. Either is was bright and I didn't have time, or it was cloudy or dark and I had all the time in the world. We have a forecast of rain for the next 6 days, so I decided to just go ahead and swatch these and just use inside and flash lighting. So sorry, I won't have any sunshine pics for you all on these.
24K
This one I is just a great gold color. I think this is pretty true to life as far as real gold looks. This one I wasn't that excited about, UNTIL I put it on. 24K won me over and I really like this color. This was three coats.
24K with one coat of Tiara. I think Tiara works best as a very thin top coat, too much of Tiara and I think it over powers the base color. My Tiara was a little thick, so I thinned mine down a bit with some thinner.
A very pretty ruby red with some glitter through out, it is sparse but still noticeable. I noticed that all of these polishes dry very quickly, it was like working with a neon or matte polish as far as quick drying time goes. All of these definitely need a top coat to really bring out the shine to them. This was three coats.
One coat of Tiara over Ruby. I thought this looked very Christmasey, like holly berries covered with ice. Again, I think a thin coat of Tiara works best for this.

OMG!! This was my second least favorite upon first impression. As soon as I put this on though, I was in love with this color! Just look how gorgeous this is!! This is definitely my favorite from the collection. Unlike the two previous colors, this one didn't have any glitter to it, which makes this more like a true life tigers eye gem. I still can't believe just how pretty this one really is! This was three coats.
One coat of Tiara over Tigers Eye. I wasn't really impressed with Tiara over Tigers Eye. Tigers Eye is just to pretty on it's own that it doesn't need anything else!

My birthstone. This one only needed two coats of polish. Emerald contains the small, sparse glitter that Ruby and 24K had. I wish it would have been just a tad bit darker, but I still think this is really pretty.
One coat of Tiara over Emerald. One thin coat really transformed this one to a shimmering jewel. Very pretty. I think Tiara complemented this really nice while not over powering the base color.
One coat of Tiara over Sapphire. This one, just like Tigers Eye didn't need Tiara. I think this one worked much better without Tiara. The base blue color is just so amazing on it's own that I didn't want glitter getting in the way. LOL, you heard right, I didn't want GLITTER getting in the way.

My second fave from the collection. What a pretty pretty pretty shade of blue!! It's deep and dark and still obviously blue! Only two coats of polish were needed for this one too. Sapphire contained the sparse glitter that most of this collection has and it really made this one just shine!

This is a pearly, silverish color that has the sparse glitter to it as well. I did need three coats of polish to really make this one look nice. I don't think this color really suited my skin tone very well, it was nice but nothing that just blew me over.
Two coats of Tiara over Platinum. I used two coats because I thought this was a color that Tiara would really complement, and I was right. Platinum needs Tiara to really bring this out and give it a little bit of a wow factor. Tiara gave this a diamond effect.

This was much more purple in real life, (I think you all know about the inability to capture purples on camera) and it had the same sparse glitter to it. However this glitter had a pink tint to it that gave a really interesting sparkle to this color. I only needed two coats of this one.
One coat of Tiara over Amethyst. I think I put Tiara on a little to thick, and it would have been much nicer if I would have put it on a little thinner.

I am really pleased with this collection as a whole. I love that they actually went for a Gem colored theme and made the colors reflect that. I think it was Orly that sort of gave jewel toned polishes a go a while back - and I was unimpressed. I didn't think any of Orly's colors really reflected jewels. That isn't a problem with nubar's Royal Gems collection, you can tell they really did a good job of bringing out the jewel tones in the polishes.
Royal Gems has a release date of September 15th and can be purchase direct from nubar's website and will go for $49.95. So tell me ladies, which is your favorite color and was your birthstone represented in this collection?
